I am planning to buy new eee pc and was thinking what antivirus app to buy?

Depends on what you intend to do with the PC and what model you intend to buy honestly.

Basically the more comprehensive the security program the more processor power is required to run it. Also the more in depth it is the more invasive it becomes which can potentially cause conflicts and odd behavior in other installed applications.

Norton - Very invasive and can easily become unstable but a good all-in one solution
McAfee - Less invasive, more stable but doesn't have as many features as Norton.
Avast - Medium grade antivirus - not a lot of options but good protection.
AVG - Requires the least amount of resources but its detection is hit-or-miss.
